How do I know you are qualified to repair my radio?

I have worked as an Technical Support Engineer / Computer Consultant and Designed web pages for MFJ, HY-Gain, Ameritron, Mirage, Vectronics , and Peter W. Dahl Co. I have been in the electronics/computer field for 30 years. My publications include,

Is the work on my radio guaranteed?

The RF Shop guarantees in writing the parts and labor utilized in repairs for a period of 30 days. In the unlikely event the radio should develop the same problems within 30 days; We will repair it free of charge. Excluding shipping.

Not covered under warranty

This warranty does not cover any loss of business, profits or other consequential damage, real or perceived, that may have resulted from any malfunction. Damage from flood, lighting strikes, earthquake, any other acts of God, mishandling, dropping or infestation is not covered by this warranty. All warrantees may be deemed void if The RF Shop determines that the equipment has been damaged due to insufficient packaging during any return shipment. The RF Shop reserves the right to determine whether alterations have been made, or damage caused, by such facts that would serve to void the terms of this warranty.

How long will it take for me to get my radio back?

Turn around time on all radios is totally dependant upon current workload, anywhere from one to eight weeks. Please remember that most repairs are unique and some will take longer than others depending upon factors such as parts availability. How much will it cost for me to get my radio fixed?

My average repair charge is $150.00 - $200.00 for a modern HF radio and around $120 for vhf and UHF rigs. This includes all parts and shipping. My exact labor rate is $80.00 per hour HF and $40.00 per hour for VHF/UHF.

What do I need to do to ship my radio to you?

Shipping the radio By UPS is the preferred method, but the US Mail is also ok. The radio should be double boxed and have at least 6 inches of soft packing around it. Remember to fill out the form and enclosed it with the rig.

How do I pay for the repair?

When I have finished the repairs; I will inform you either by phone or E-Mail of the total charges.

There are several way to pay.

Visa, Master card, Discover or Amaerican Express.

You can also pay by sending me a check or money order. I will ship the radio to you as soon as I receive the check back from the bank. I wait for checks to clear, this is the slowest way.
